I'm Just a Seasonal

Announcing the latest release from Productivity Publications - I'm Just a Seasonal: The Life of a Seasonal Ranger in Yosemite National Park, by Thomas A. Smith. It will be available from Amazon Online and other online booksellers sometime next week. I'll provide a link when it is up.

This story that takes you behind the scenes at a national park and shows the challenges and the joys of being a park ranger. It covers a period of time in the 1970's and 80's when there were many seasonal rangers. From amusing stories about run-ins with bears, mules and interesting campers to more serious tales of the dangers and tragedies, this book is a multi-faceted look at ranger life. Parts of the book also address ecological issues and give some insights into Park history.  It's an interesting read.

Check out the InnerQuest blog (www.websandwings.blogs.com/innerquest) for an update about the Robert Ferre Labyrinth Training at Summer Hill Country Inn and Retreat Center, a great place to have a retreat. I will be writing a number of columns about the retreat and the Center and the people I met there - and the things I learned. Everyone went away from that master class changed in some way.

I have a new book in the InnerQuest blog's book list. Michael Schneider's "A Beginner's Guide to Constructing the Universe." There will be a book review of that soon on the InnerQuest site.

There is a delay in the proof for "I'm Just a Seasonal." It was evidently sent out on the 23rd of May, but has not arrived. They are going to sent me another one. This has not been a smooth publishing project. I'd hoped to have it in the bookstores by Memorial Day, but there have been glitches at every turn.
